This task shows you how to visualize the elements orientation according to the normal direction of the finite element.
Open the Sample01.CATAnalysis document from the samples directory.
To visualize the element orientation, you must select For faces belonging to solids the check box of the Enable back face culling option in the display settings. To know how to select this option, refer to Infrastructure User's Guide: Customizing: Customizing Settings: General: Display: Performance.

Click Element Orientation
in the Mesh Visualization Tools toolbar.The elements orientation appears as shown below.

Red color indicates the positive orientation

Blue color indicates the negative orientation.

The positive side supports the finite element normal.

The generation ordering of the nodes determines which side of the element is the positive one and which is the negative one.

Click Element Orientation
to exit the element orientation visualization mode or
change the visualization mode.
