Updating Documents
 |
This task contains information on
updating documents. |
 |
The connections in your design
will not update automatically after you make certain changes to it, such as
moving parts, runs or lofts. This behavior is by design, to enhance
performance. In order to update your design document click the Force Update
button .
This command can also be used to update a run. If you have several
contiguous parts placed on a run, then modifying, using copy-paste or deleting
a part may cause the
connector symbol
to
disappear from the adjacent part. Updating the run will bring
the connector visualization back. NOTE: The symbol only displays when you have an
option selected. Go to Tools - Options - Equipment & Systems,
select the Display tab, and select the option Part
connectors.
You can also
update a part - see Placing Parts. |

Table below lists the difference
between Update Part functionality and Force Update
functionality. |
|
|
Update Part |
Force Update |
What this functionality is? |
Update Part is specific to Equipment
and System. This functionality will update equipment and
system's connections (e.g. fluidic connections, run
connections). |
Force Update functionality will update only
mechanical and geometric entities (e.g. constraints, geometrical
updates), equipment and system related elements can not be
updated using this functionality. |
Which element is updated? |
Update Part updates only runs,
bendable, flexible and tubes. |
Force Update updates all parts under the active
product. |
What portion is updated? |
In Update Part connections are
updated. |
In Force Update geometry and mechanical
constraints are updated. |
|
|
Note: Update Part
is for updating the connections in equipment and system and not the
parts. As a result, parts such as flexible and bendable may change
locations after Update Part. |
