Click User-defined Distant Connection Property
in the Connection Properties toolbar.
The User-defined Connection Property dialog box
appears.

Depending on the type of Start, Middle and
End
elements you choose, you have to define the corresponding parameters
using the Component
Edition button
.
For example: if you select the Rigid,
Spring-Beam and Rigid-Contact combination, you will
have to define the properties of each of the following elements: Spring, Beam
and Contact.

Select an analysis connection as support.
In this particular example, select the General
Analysis Connection.1 in the specification tree under the
Analysis Connection Manager.1 set.

property is visualized on the corresponding faces.

Select the type of the elements to be featured at the
start, the middle, and the end of the connection.

When needed, click the Component
Edition button
to define the element parameters for the start, the middle, and the end
of the connection.
The corresponding dialog box appears. The order of
the parameters displayed in the dialog box depends on the element
type you selected.
For example, options for Spring-Beam and Beam-Spring
are displayed differently. For Spring-Beam, spring
parameters are displayed first, and beam parameters are displayed
after the spring parameters. For Beam-Spring, beam
parameters are displayed first, and spring parameters are displayed
after the beam parameters.

If you set the parameters as shown below:

Start: if you click the Component

the Start Connection dialog box appears:

Middle: if you click the Component
Edition button

the Middle Connection dialog box appears:

End: if you click the Component
Edition button
,
the End Connection dialog box appears:

Click OK in the Start, Middle or
End Connection dialog box.

Click OK in the User-defined Connection
Property dialog box.
Note that two elements appear in the specification
tree:
- A Generic Connection Mesh.1 connection
mesh part under the Nodes and Elements set
- A User-defined Connection Property.1
connection property under the Properties.1 set.
