Electrical Harness Flattening in a Nutshell

Electrical Harness Flattening is a product which is intended to flatten 3D harnesses in order to create associated 2D drawings. Filtering functionalities for wires are also available if you have an Electrical Wire Routing license.

Electrical Harness Flattening offers the following main functions:

  • Flattens bundle segments or electrical and geometrical bundles
  • Straightens bundle segments
  • Rotates whole bundle segments or bends them at a defined point
  • Rolls bundle segments
  • Scales bundle segments by introducing fake lengths
  • Updates your flattened view at any time during the session thanks to a synchronize option
  • Allows you to select the type of representation for your drawing
  • Allows you to annotate the wires in your drawing
  • Integrates Generative View Styles (GVS) on Electrical Harness Flattening data.

As a scalable product, Electrical Harness Flattening can be used in cooperation with other current or future companion products such as Electrical Library, Electrical Harness Installation and Electrical Wire Routing.

Before Reading this Guide

Before reading this guide, you should be familiar with basic Version 5 concepts such as document windows, standard and view toolbars. Therefore, we recommend that you read the Infrastructure User's Guide that describes generic capabilities common to all Version 5 products. It also describes the general layout of V5 and the interoperability between workbenches.

The Electrical Wire Routing product is a prerequisite. For more information about this product, refer to the Electrical Wire Routing User's Guide.
