Preparing for Synchronization

This task shows you how to prepare a model for the creation of a manufacturing stacking, and future synchronizations between the manufacturing and engineering stackings.

Available in Composites Design for Manufacturing (CPM).
An engineering structure must already exist.
Open the ManufacturingData1.CATPart document.
  • When the manufacturing document is generated/synchronized, identification information is added to the engineering part.
This information is absolutely necessary to allow the composites entities to be recognized
(and therefore not recreated) during future synchronizations.
  • If this information is missing, a long warning message will appear when you start the creation of the manufacturing document, or its synchronization. You must prepare the engineering part to avoid this message.
  1. Open the part that contains the prepared engineering stacking.
And do one of the following:

    • Click Manufacturing Document in the Manufacturing toolbar.
The preparation for synchronization is started automatically if required.

    • Click Prepare for Synchronization   in the Manufacturing toolbar.
This method is useful for engineering designers before generating the manufacturing stacking,
or for the manufacturing designer before synchronizing the manufacturing stacking with the engineering stacking.
Prepare for Synchronization checks it is possible to generate or synchronize the manufacturing stacking in the current context, and displays warning messages when relevant.
