Removing MultiCAD Links

This procedure describes how to remove the MultiCAD links, i.e. to switch from the MultiCAD mode (where updates from original data are available and the data generated in V5 are in Read Only mode) to the Translator mode (where updates from original data are not available and the data generated in V5 are in Read/Write mode).
  • This switch is not reversible!
  • You must have the licences for the MultiCAD plug-in and the corresponding translator.
  • A one-shot imported MultiCAD assembly is considered as a whole, removing any link in it removes ALL the links of the assembly!

  1. Open the Tools > Customize dialog box. Go to the Commands tab and select the All Commands category.

  2. In the Commands list, select RemoveMultiCADLinks and drag and drop the command into a toolbar.

  3. Click RemoveMultiCADLinks and select a product or a part.
    A dialog box is displayed that shows all the MultiCAD links to be broken.

  4. Click OK to delete the links and unlock the data.
