Naming conventions

Object names in Abaqus for CATIA V5 must adhere to the following rules:

Additional restrictions apply to analysis case names because they are used as file names.

In general, when you are specifying a name that will be used external to Abaqus for CATIA V5, such as a file name, you should avoid any character that may have a reserved meaning on your platform.

Abaqus for CATIA V5 retains the case of any text you enter. For example, if you name a load PRESSURE in the Pressure dialog box, the load will appear as PRESSURE in the specification tree. However, within Abaqus for CATIA V5 (and all Abaqus products) all text is case insensitive; you cannot use case to distinguish between objects such as loads and boundary conditions. If you create a load called PRESSURE, you cannot create a second load called Pressure.
